What is the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine?
TCM is based on theories about vital energy “Qi”, which flow along Jing-Luo called meridians to help maintain the body's health. To put it simply, the meridian is a transportation network on our body, which is distributed all over the body. It is along this network that blood and energy are transported to the whole body. Therefore, meridians determine human health. Once the meridian is blocked and affected the movement of qi and blood, the human body will appear with a variety of diseases. Common clinical manifestations include heat, cold, pain, numbness, and swelling.
How does TCM treat?
TCM therapy is to stimulate the human body's acupoints to dredge and relax the blocked meridians, to make them play back their normal physiological role, thus achieving the function of curing disease and health care. Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Herbal, and Tuina are commonly utilised in treatment.
What will my first visit be like?
Ken begins with a discussion of the chief reason you've come in, followed by comprehensive health history. As with all aspects of TCM, your entire case is taken into consideration so we can determine what is causing the condition. Because we are treating the whole person, not just the symptom, a robust intake evaluation is needed. During the consultation, I look at your tongue and feel your pulse, these two key diagnostic methods provide quantitative data to look at in addition to your symptoms.
